Anthony Evenden is the founder and owner of GladSla

Anthony's aim is to making traditional, locally crafted goods desirable, relevant and accessible today. He specialises in making decorative and functional pieces from metal and wood.

His training in metalwork began at school, after which he went on to become a time served mechanical craftsman at British Steel. After an intervening career as a research scientist, Anthony has revisited his metalcraft roots in new ways by working in decorative metals.

The GladSla workshop relies as little as possible on labour-saving, automated equipment, which means that your pieces are lovingly crafted, and every detail gets the focus it deserves.

The name GladSla is taken from the Old Norse for the words happy and forge. Many of Anthony's designs are inspired by Norse sigils and runes.

If you'd like to say hello in person, talk about a commission or look at any of the GladSla products in the flesh, you'll find Anthony at the Farnham Maltings Monthly Market on the first Saturday of every month.
